Its aggressive rubber adhesive provides immediate, high-strength adhesion, while the durable polyester backing resists chemicals, abrasion, and temperatures up to 200°F. It is ideal for splicing, core starting, sealing, holding, and reinforcing difficult-to-bond surfaces.

3M™ Super Bond Film Tape 396 combines the thin profile and high tensile strength of a polyester backing with the immediate holding power of a rubber adhesive for creating butt splices on low surface energy materials such as polyethylene and other difficult-to-bond surfaces. 3M™ 396 also performs well in a variety of other applications, including sealing, repairing, holding, and reinforcing difficult-to-stick materials. The tape delivers immediate, aggressive adhesion for fast and easy application. The durable polyester backing withstands temperatures from 40°F (4°C) to 200°F (93°C) and resists chemicals and abrasion, helping ensure reliable, long-lasting performance.
