tesa® 5012 is a specialized high-temperature masking tape featuring a durable bright green fine crepe paper backing coated with a natural rubber adhesive. Designed for performance spray painting applications, it provides strong adhesion, excellent durability, and dependable performance at elevated drying temperatures. tesa® 5012 is designed to perform reliably throughout subsequent oven-drying cycles at temperatures up to 248°F (120°C) for 60 minutes or 266°F (130°C) for 30 minutes. It is hand tearable, resistant to wet sanding, and engineered for clean, one-piece removal. High tear resistance helps prevent backing shredding, even in demanding applications. Engineered for transportation industries such as marine, rail, and truck manufacturing, tesa® 5012 delivers the strong adhesion and durability required to secure large and heavy masking materials. The tape offers outdoor resistance for up to 3 days and can remain in place for up to 30 days in indoor applications. In addition to demanding painting applications, it is also well suited for general-purpose masking applications such as holding, sealing, securing, and color coding.
