It is commonly used for solder masking on printed circircuit boards and for minimizing static related risk when masking ESD sensitive electrical components during wave soldering and reflow processes.

The tape is engineered to maintain high temperature stability while preventing static related damage.

TapeCase Low Static Polyimide Tape BL is a 1 mil specially treated polyimide backing coated with a high temperature silicone adhesive designed to minimize static generation during stripping and peeling operations. Low static polyimide tape is commonly used in circuit board production, including PCB masking during wave solder or solder dip processes, as well as to help minimize static related risk when masking ESD sensitive electrical components during wave soldering and reflow processes.

The BL series delivers excellent mechanical, electrical, and dimensional stability while remaining highly conformable, with strong resistance to cut through, abrasion, and impact. Designed to withstand continuous temperatures up to 500°F (260°C), TapeCase BL maintains reliable adhesion and removes cleanly after exposure to heat and many chemicals. It is widely used in the electronics, electrical, aerospace, and automotive/EV industries where dependable high temperature and low static performance are critical. The BL series meets MIL P 46112B / ASTM D5213, Type 1, Item A.
