| Product Description | 3M 8997 Polyimide Masking Tape is an amber polyimide tape with silicone adhesive designed to meet the demands of high temperature powder coat masking applications. Use the clean removal polyimide tape to mask parts during the powder coat painting process, 3M 8997 is engineered to leave sharp, clean edges—even after paint bake applications up to 500°F. High temperature, chemical and abrasion resistance; 3M 8997 also works well in the surface finishing industry for e-coating, electroplating and anodizing masking applications. Resists shrinking, curling and edge lifting; use in the fabrication industry to provide a good barrier of separation between dissimilar metals to prevent corrosion. Minimize clean up, works well to mask the edges of overlap seams in metal bonding processes where excess adhesive flows out. |
